Here are some things that Sacred Chickens wants you to check out this week!
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell- by Susanna Clarke-
What is it? An epic story centered around to powerful magicians in England during the 19th century. The novel is hard to describe due to scope, but it centers around the two men and how their lives intersect, mostly through their competitiveness. It's very long but worth every second.
The Mask of Apollo- by Mary Renault
What is it? If you're in the mood for a historical drama, look no further. The Story centers around a young actor who, in 4th century Greece, finds himself in the midst of a political crisis between Dion, a friend of Plato, and Dionysios the Younger.
Winchester- Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig
What is it? While it's a generally accepted fact here at Sacred Chickens that reading a book is always better, every now and then we find a movie worth mentioning. The movie tells the story of one of the most haunted houses in America, and the woman who lives in it. The Heiress Sarah Winchester has had the house under construction for decades, building hundreds of rooms. But they aren't being built for anyone in her family, or indeed anyone living.
